Builders in NSW are now familiar with the Building Sustainability Index (BASIX) and what it means for building, renovating, or pool installation. What is less clear is what NABERS and Green Star mean, and why these ratings are becoming increasingly important.
The Federal Government announced that it would be implementing mandatory disclosure of building energy efficiency performance for commercial properties with a Net Lettable Area greater than 2,000sqm. The scheme has been delayed, although it is likely to be introduced from October. It is important to start collecting data now to be able to get a NABERS rating.
